I am Paul Burkhard, a guy that is in his first year of teaching at the age of 41.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in high school, but got waylaid in life. At the age of 39, I decided that I really needed to do what I was made to do, teach.
I joined Project Promise, a mid-career transitional licensure program offered through Colorado State University. After 10 months of hard work, long hours and no pay, I was hired to be the Technology Instructor at Highland High School in Ault, Colorado.
I teach a total of six classes, four sections of "Technology I," which is mostly AutoCAD, and then two sections of "Graphic Arts and Web Design," which is an overview of the Macromedia Suite, including Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash.
This blog is the story of my adventures there.
